PLWHA Advisory Group
(Living Together)

Living Together is an AIDS education and advisory group serving Westchester, Rockland, and Putnam Counties, composed of consumers and providers of HIV/AIDS- related services. This combination of the infected and the affected living and working together encourages a unique exchange of information and ideas and allows the open participation of consumers who are not always comfortable disclosing their HIV status, as all members are among the affected. Living Together meets monthly (ten meetings a year, see calendar for meeting times); publishes a quarterly newsletter distributed to consumers throughout the Tri-County region; conducts trainings on the Ryan White CARE Act and the Tri-County planning process in order to increase consumer participation; and meets bi-annually with the AIDS Advisory Group of the New York HIV Planning Council to strategize on ways to outreach to Tri-County consumers and better promote their participation in the local process of planning for HIV/AIDS services. Living Together provides trainings and distributes information to approximately 400 Tri-County residents with HIV/AIDS.
