The Committee is charged with overseeing efforts to ensure meaningful and substantial involvement of people living with HIV/AIDS in all Planning Council activities. It collaborates with the Rules and Membership Committee in recruitment measures, such as outreach efforts, to secure appropriate consumer representation on the Planning Council. To retain these members and to keep them fully engaged, the committee will have input into orientation, training and mentoring. In conjunction with the Planning Council staff, the Consumers Committee will see that issues of financial support for consumer involvement are addressed appropriately and within CARE Act guidelines.
